Frank Hamerlinck

FRANK HAMERLINCK EDUCATOR 1997

Mr. Hamerlinck was born and educated in Minneota, Minnesota. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science Degrees from Bemidji State University and a Masters of Education Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Dakota. He served in the US Navy from 1944-1947.

Frank taught at Clearbrook and in Thief River Falls. His administrative assignments began as an elementary principal in 1953 at Clearbrook. Administratively, Frank entered the Thief River Falls School system as the junior high principal in 1959. From 1965-1971 he was an Assistant to the Superintendent, and from 1971-to 1973 he served as the district’s Curriculum Director. During the time between 1973-1985, he was the Principal at Lincoln High School.  He returned as Assistant to the Superintendent in 1985. Besides his administrative duties, Frank also found time to coach at both Clearbrook and Thief River Falls.

As an administrator for the district, Frank was very involved with district, regional, and state committees. For many years he served as the district’s representative to the Minnesota State High School League Representative Assembly and chaired several Region 8 and 8AA committees. He wrote and administered the district’s Federal programs and served on numerous committees at the State Department of Education. He chaired several North Central Association High School Accreditation Teams and served on several task forces for the Principals and Superintendents’ Association. 

Mr. Hamerlinck has been a very supportive and active member of the community of Thief River Falls. He is a member and past president of the Lions Club, American Legion member, Thief River Falls Education Foundation member, and serves on the Thief River Falls City Council.
