Glen Carlson
Glen Carlson is a 1956 graduate of Lincoln High School. Throughout his high school career, Glen was a participant in three varsity sports including football, hockey and baseball. As a junior, he was a hard-hitting first baseman who made the All-State Baseball team in 1955 as the Prowlers won the State Consolation Championship. In 1956 when the Prowlers won the State Hockey Championship, Glen was a high scoring left winger who received All-State honors. Glen was also a member of the varsity football team as a starting end his senior year.
While playing three sports at Lincoln, Glen also maintained good grades. He was selected to the National Honor Society and served on the Student Council. He played in the concert, jazz and marching bands.
Glen continued his participation in athletics in the years following graduation. In baseball he played for the Thief River Falls Thieves and for a top amateur league in Milwaukee for several years. Glen also played hockey for the Thieves and for several amateur teams in the Twin Cities. He was an avid runner and ran in the Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth in 1982.
Glen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UND and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas A and M. For 27 years he has held the title of manager of the Minnesota Traffic Management Center. He is highly respected by traffic engineers throughout the United States.
