Loren Stadum
Loren Stadum is a 1939 graduate of Lincoln High School. During high school, Stadum was a four-year letter winner in football and basketball, and a two-year letter winner in track. He was football captain and selected Most Valuable Player his senior year.
Stadum participated on three state high school basketball tournament teams in 1937, 1938, and 1939. In both his junior and senior year, he was selected to the All-State Basketball team as a center.
Stadum was a junior class officer, senior class president, and member of the National Athletic Scholarship Society. He received a basketball scholarship to Syracuse University, but WWII interrupted his college career. After the war, he continued his education at the University of Minnesota where he received a BS Degree in 1948.
Stadum coached Barnum High School football, track, and basketball teams from 1948-1951. He coached Osakis High School football, basketball, and track from 1951-1952. After moving to Coleraine in 1952, Stadum coached and was Athletic Director at Greenway High School until he retired in 1982. Throughout his life, Stadum has remained active in church and community activities. A highly successful football and basketball coach, Stadum maintained a two-thirds winning percentage over a thirty-year coaching career.
