Michelle Olson

MICHELLE OLSON ATHLETE 1997

Ms. Olson received her diploma from Lincoln High School in 1985. Athletically, she was an outstanding tennis, basketball, and golf player for the Prowlers. She was a member of the varsity tennis team for six years, and five of those six years she was selected to the All-Conference team. She participated in the state individual tournament in 1984 losing in the second round. As a four-year member of the basketball team, Michelle became the first Prowler female to score a thousand points in a single season. This feat was accomplished her senior year, and Michelle remains one of only three girls who have reached this milestone at Lincoln.

In 1985 she enrolled in college at Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota. She received her degree in Business Administration in 1989. While at Southwest State University, she continued playing tennis. From 1985-1989 Michelle was both a singles and doubles NAIA All-Conference selection. The doubles team she was a part of was ranked consistently in the top 15 of the NAIA from 1985-1989. Michelle was an All-American in 1988, and Honorable Mention All-American in 1989. She was named Southwest State University’s “Female Athlete of the Year” her senior year.

Michelle is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association and is a certified tennis professional. Currently she is the Tennis Pro at the St. Paul Indoor Tennis Club.  Ms. Olson organizes, directs, and instructs women’s daytime and evening leagues, junior tennis programs, private lessons and coaches United States Tennis Association summer leagues.
