Kopari, Nicole

Nicole Kopari graduated from Lincoln High School in 1999 where she lettered in volleyball, swimming, basketball and track and holds many school records in these sports. She is a four-time state champion and the Gatorade Player of the Year, Track and Field 1998-1999. In 1998 she won the Class AA discus and shot put events and also was the AAU National Champion in the disc.  In 1999 she backed that up with 2 more state championship performances in the same events.  Her discus throw of 152 feet 3 inches still ranks her on the top 10 all time list.  

 

Nicole went on to compete in track and field at the University of Minnesota.  She was a 4-year letter winner and a 2-time Big 10 All Academic member.  She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School with honors in 2008 and completed her residency at Michigan State University.

 

Dr. Kopari is Board Certified Burn Surgeon, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care. She currently works for Regions Hospital in St. Paul and is part of their Burn and Trauma department. 

 

She prides herself on being a surgeon who thinks with her head, operates with her hands, but acts based on her heart.

 

Dr. Kopari has worked in hospital and trauma units in Minnesota, Michigan, Seattle, Houston and currently lives in Woodbury with her husband Colin.
