Ralph Engelstad graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. He played on the football, hockey and track teams. He was a member of the All-Conference Football Team in 1948. He was also a member of the LHS hockey team. This team played in the first Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.
While a student at the University of North Dakota, Ralph played hockey there. He is a UND graduate, a member of the UND Hall of Fame and a UND Sioux Award recipient. In his honor the University of North Dakota has named their hockey arena, “The Ralph Engelstad Arena”.
Ralph is a successful businessman in Las Vegas, Nevada and in 1990 was named National Employer of the Year by the President’s Committee on Employment of People With Disabilities.
