Roy Oen

Roy J. Oen was a 1928 graduate of Lincoln High School. He was a member of the basketball and football teams serving as captain of both of them. He was also a member of the National Athletic Honor Society while at Lincoln.

     While continuing his education at the University of Minnesota he played football. He was made captain of the team and was selected as the most valuable player on the Gopher Squad.

     Roy returned to Thief River Falls to manage Oen Mercantile.

     The 1928 Lincoln High School yearbook says of Roy Oen, “A Prince of fellows, a zealous student, and a star athlete.”
