Sheldon Joppru
Sheldon graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1969. He attended the University of North Dakota and was awarded his B.S. Degree in Social Science in 1973.
During his high school days at Lincoln, Sheldon participated in football, basketball, baseball and track. In his senior year, he captained the basketball team and was named all-conference in both football and basketball. WCCO Radio and the Minneapolis Star Tribune named him to their All-State Football Team.
Mr. Joppru continued his athletic career at the University of North Dakota where he received a four- year football scholarship. He was a starting tight end for four years and had the opportunity to play in the Camelia Bowl in Sacramento, California.
After graduating from college, Sheldon played professional football in the World Football League, playing for both the Detroit Wheels and the Shreveport Steamers.
Sheldon currently operates a car dealership in the Twin Cities. He is an active member of the Minnetonka Booster club and continues to stay involved in football by coaching at the elementary level.
