William Saetre
William Saetre is a 1979 graduate of Lincoln High School. As a high school student, he sang with the chorus, performed in the annual musicals, and played in the band for four years. He was a member of the community band and has studied piano since he was eight years old.
“Billy” graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Music degree. While at St. Olaf, he was a member of the concert choir. Upon graduation, he enrolled at the San Francisco Conservatory where he was awarded a Master of Music in Vocal Performance. While attending the Conservatory, he sang tenor soloist with St. Marks Episcopal Cathedral Choir with whom he toured New Zealand and Australia. Following graduation from the Conservatory, he sang with several different touring opera companies.
In 1991 Billy debuted in Europe where he continues to live and perform, principally in Germany and Austria. His other stops have included the Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Pacific, Sacramento and San Francisco Opera, Dallas Opera, the
Banff Centre, the Frankfurt Opera, the National Theater in Prague, and the Czech Radio Orchestra to mention a few.
Equally at home in the musical theater repertoire, he has performed professionally in “Hello Dolly”, “Camelot”, “Guys and Dolls” and was a principal performer in San Francisco’s famous Beach Blanket Babylon. Mr. Saetre has also appeared in Symphony Pops concerts.
